Mayor Michael V. Fariñas administered the Oaths of office of the Vice Mayor and the ten Councilors, all re-elecrionists save for three, in front of the latter's families, City Departments Heads, Barangay officials, friends and visitors.
Amidst a very well decorated setting complete with a red carpet, lined up with a uniformed cadet corps and a girl scout regimen, red-white-blue drapes that hung against the background, newly repainted bricks and flowers pots wrapped with the tri-color theme, and a university band that played marching tunes and the Lupang Hinirang, the City Hall Frontage simply looked regal and the atmosphere very official and solemn.
In his Speech, Mayor Fariñas recalled his campaign platform when he ran in 2004, enumerated his accomplishments in the past six years, and his commitments for his last term of office. He thanked all Laoagueños, including those who did not support him, for his new mandate and his making history for running unopposed in the last elections. He promised to " Make Visions Fulfilled to Create Valuable Future" to all Laoagueños.
Everyone was treated to a sumptuous "brunch" at the City Auditorium after the Oath Taking ceremony.
