In the regular Monday flag raising ceremony yesterday, the first for 2010, Mayor Michael V. Fariñas emphatically greeted all Laoag City employees a Fruitful New Year and a Happy Three Kings.
The mood and atmosphere were so light and bright that the Mayor extended his greetings of Happy Birthday to some concerned employees, Happy Fiesta, and Happy Valentine to all.But just as everyone was still feeling rusty from the Holidays hangover, the Mayor challenged all employees to get back to work, work and work doubly harder. It is actually a call for cooperation from the City employees to help Mayor Fariñas achieve his dreams for Laoag City, considering that he has made history by running unchallenged for the Mayoralty race for the coming elections this May.
In the press briefing and staff meeting that ensued after the flag raising, Mayor Fariñas gave urgent instructions to the Department Heads and members of the Pamulinawen Festival Organizing Committee, to fast track preparations for the month long February Festivities, emphasizing that it is only 26 days to the big event.
